STEAM DUCT UNDER ROAD

PROPOSAL AT PUBLIC HOSPITAL The construction of a big duct beneath Riccarton avenue, which will enable steam to be brought across from the laundry boilers on the old manse site to the Christchurch Public Hospital directly opposite has been approved by the Denartment of Health. The building of the duct is expected to provide a welcome added facility to the amenities at the main hospital. The consulting .engineers to the North Canterbury Hospital Board, Messrs Vickerman and Lancaster, have been asked to prepare plans and specifications for the job. which will be begun as soon as possible.
