REVENUE FROM TRAMWAYS
FIGURES FOR APRIL A deficiency of £7lO for the four weeks ended April 27 was reported to the Christchurch Tramway Board yesterday. The deficiency was £1429 less than the deficiency for the same period last year. The total revenue during the period was £30,677, an increase of £2036. and revenue from passengers. £29,805, showed an increase of £2050. Operating expenses increased by £429 to £24.348, there being an increase of £457 in traffic expenses, £3OB for power and fuel, and £96 for general expenses. There was a decrease of £432 in the cost of repairs and maintenance, which was £5572. Passengers carried during the four weeks totalled 2.040.041, a decrease of 236.783. and mileage covered increased from 298,121 to 312,921.
