WRESTLING
POLICE STOP BOUT (P.A.) WELLINGTON, May ». Holding that Kay BeH had deliberately thrown Paul Boesch through the ropes,. SUb-Inspector A. G. McHugh stopped a heavy-weight professional wrestling contest between the pair in the Town Hall to-night. A few moments before the end of the final round no falls had been obtained, and the referee, A. Jenkins, amid shouts of protest against the police decision, gave a no-dedsion ruling. Bell substituted for Jim Henry, who was incapacitated. The bout was one of the fastest and liveliest seen in the Town Hall, with the referee occasionally warning both men for strangleholds and some methods adopted in applying jack-knife blows. Some excellent wrestling was seen in the concluding round. Bell had Boesch groggy with a series of running headlocks and dumps. He then picked him up in a further headlock and threw him for what* Was expected to prove the opportunity for a pin. Boesch, however, went hurtling through the ropes practically into the arms of Sub-Inspector McHugh, who immediately stopped the contest.
