PASSENGERS BY RIMUTAKA
PROMINENT VISITORS RETURNING HOME “ The Press ” Special Service
AUCKLAND, April 14. Two prominent visitors to New Zealand and one former United Kingdom official representative will leave Auckland by the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Rimutaka on Thursday.
A former Governor-General, Lord Eledisloe. accompanied by Lady Eledisloe, will end a visit'ot more than a month to the Dominion. Another visitor returning to Britain is Admiral of the Fleet Lord Tovey, who, with Lady Tovey, arrived in New Zealand from Australia in January. After holding the office of High Commissioner for the United Kingdom for more than six years, Sir Harry Batterbee will leave by the Rimutaka, with Lady Batterbee. Sir Harry Batterbee was succeeded as High Commissioner by Sir Patrick Duff in July, 1945. An attache of the Soviet Legation in Wellington, Mr V. A. Shumkov, and Mrs Shumkov, will travel to England by the liner.
