HOSPITAL TRAM FARES
Sir, —As a regular user of the trams and bus service to the Sanatoria at Cashmere. I suggest that the present fares be reduced. It costs me from Fitzgerald avenue, Is 6d on week days with a concession ticket, and Is lOd on Sundays. To the Christchurch Hospital seven days a week the fare is only Id from the Square; and I feel the T.B. patients are just as anxious to see their friends and relations other sick persons. As the visiting days tare twice a week, quite a considerable sum is spent on tram fares, as well as taking little luxuries. We are very grateful for the recently-in-augurated bus service, which helped tired wives and mothers. I suggest that a special concession ticket be issued from the Square right up to the “San.” to take in both tram and bus at a reduced price to regular users.—Yours, etc., A . H.W.S. April 11, 1947.
