JEWISH IMMIGRATION INTO PALESTINE
ICKES’S COMMENT ON BRITISH POLICY
(Rec. 7 p.m.) NEW YORK, March 30. The United States before agreeing to take over Britain’s obligations in Greece and Turkey should insist that Britain should reopen Palestine to Jewish Immigration and settlement, said Mr Harold Ickes, a farmer United States Secretary of the Interior in a speech at Atlanta. He added: “Unless this is done the United States in effect will be underwriting Britain’s unchristian and uncivilised course in Palestine.”
