PLANS FOR BRITISH ARMY LONDON, March 14. The Army’s “spit and polish” days •re ending. The Secretary of State for War (Mr F. J. Bellenger), presenting the Army Estimates in the House of Commons, said the War Office was experimenting with a new brass-col-oured button which would not need polishing, new and lighter webbing equipment which would not need continual treatment,” and also a new lipp-topped kitbag of the type used in air travel.
