R.S.A. ELECTION
Sir, —The president of the R.S.A. has completely missed my point. If the business community'and general public of Christchurch who generously gave £BOOO to R.S.A. funds in 1945 are to be denied a simple explanation by an executive member as to why the huge sum of £l5OO was paid in commission, then the time is overdue for more democratic R.S.A. leadership to look after the good name of the association—and the interests of the public too. If the president of the R.S.A. is not interested in investigating housing costs, I am. We were all sold a pup last year with glib promises of a 20 per cent, reduction in building costs. On my £l6OO house, halffinished on Budget day, the builder offers me £9 10s rebate.—Yours, etc., A. E. E. IVORY. March 14, 1947.
