TIMBER FROM CANADA

ARRIVAL OF NEW MOTORSHIP (P.A.) AUCKLAND, March 9. The first vessel in the recently-open-ed Pacific service of W. R. Carpenter Ltd., to visit Auckland, the motor-ship Rabaul, will arrive here from Vancouver via Honolulu on Wednesday with 1,300,000 feet of Canadian lumber. Plans for a new trade from the Pacific coast to Australia and New Zealand to be maintained by ships of the company were announced last September, and the first call made to the Dominion was a visit to Wellington last month of the Lautoka, on her maiden voyage from Vancouver.
