Fires in City.— Little damage was done when a stack of timber caught fire at premises occupied by H. C. Urlwin, Ltd., Waltham road, about midday yesterday. The Christchurch Fire Brigade put but the fire, the cause of which is not known. At 6.11 p.m. the brigade answered a cal) to a chimney fire in a house occupied by Samuel Nathan Salas at 192 Chester street.
