Volunteers for Cold Research.—Five hundred persons have responded to the Ministry of Health appeal for volunteers to participate in the Ministry’s research into common colds. They must be willing to spend 10 days in isolation at the Ministry’s research unit near Salisbury. The volunteers include returned servicemen and women, school teachers, and housewives. A Ministry official stated that there was every prospect of keeping the trials going during the next six months.—London, January 17.
