BRIGHTON GROCERS’ DECISION
WILL REMAIN OPEN ON SATURDAYS
Grocers at New Brighton will continue to open their shops on Saturdays and to observe the weekly holiday on Wednesday. This was decided last evening at a meeting of grocers held at New Brighton to discuss the question of closing their shops on Saturdays to comply with the provisions of the 40hour. five-day week. It was also agreed to appeal to the authorities to retain the practice of closing on Wednesday?.
