COAL FOR RAIL TRAFFIC
SUFFICIENT SUPPLY FOR HOLIDAY PERIOD Although passenger traffic during the holiday period had been heavy, there had been no danger of a coal shortage, stated an officer of the Railways Department yesterday. Supplies of coal had come forward during the period from the bins of West Coast mines, and goods traffic had shown its expected decrease over Christmas and New Year.
