OFFICIAL COUNTS ANNOUNCED MR ALGIE’S MAJORITY INCREASED (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 5. Except for a small number of service votes and a few cast by former servicemen, official counts for the electorates of Remuera. North Shore, and Onehunga were completed to-day. Of candidates who were successful on the provisional count. Mr R. M. Algie (National. Remuera) increased his majority by 397. and Mr A. G. Osborne (Labour, Onehunga) by 191. The lead of Dr. A. M. Finlay North Shore) was reduced by 133. No instances of plural voting were, discovered in the three constituencies. Returning officers for the remaining 11 seats including Parnell, which is of vital interest, as Mr D. M. Rae (National) has a lead of only 50 votes over his opponent, the Hon. F. W. Schramm (Labour), will probably announce the result of their count to-morrow. Following are the official figures for the three electorates: — Remuera R. M. Algie (National) .. 8465 J. King (National) .. 5204 Majority for Osborne .. 3399 FRANKLIN AND OTAHUHU (P A.) AUCKLAND. December 5. The official count of votes m the Franklin electorate has resulted as follows: — J. N. Massey (National) .. 8532 A. D. J. Gunn (Labour) .. 4508 Majority for Massey .. 4024 Mr Massey polled 421 absentee and postal votes, and Mr Gunn 293. The final count of civilian votes in the Brooklyn electorate, announced today, increases the Prime Ministers majority by 99. The Rt. Hon. P. Fraser received 545 of the outstanding votes, and Mr Stewart Hardy 446. There were 135 informal votes.
