RETROACTIVE WAGE INCREASES (Rec. 12.30) SAN FRANCISCO, Oct 30. The International Longshoremen’s and Warehousemen’s Union has filed a damages suit against the Pacific Waterfront Employers’ Association for more than 6,000,000 dollars alleging that the ' employers are withholding retroactive wage increases agreed upon last June. The disputed pay is an increase of 23 cents an hour retroactive to October 1, 1945, awarded by tire Presidential fact-finding Payment was due on October 30. Five million dollars was asked as the amount of the retroactive wages due under the agreement, and 1.000.000 dollars as punitive damage? and interest of approximately 1000 dollars daily was also sought.
