(Rec. ‘ 7 p.m.) LONDON. October 29. The Bulgarian Communist leader, Mr Dimitroff, declared that the recent elections in Bulgaria were conducted under pressure from the Western Powers in favour of the Opposition parties. Therefore, the Fatherland Front’s victory was all the more important, says Reuter’s correspondent in Sofia.
Mr Dimitroff alleged that open threats were made that if the Fatherland Front obtained a majority heavy peace terms would be imposed on Bulgaria.
The president, Mr Kolaroff, said the Fatherland Front would remain in existence becahse it was a historic necessity. Bulgaria found collaboration with Russia very important, but sought everywhere collaboration which guaranteed Bulgaria’s independence.
