OBJECT OF INDIAN GOVERNMENT

NEW DELHI, Oct. 29. The leader of the interim Government (Pandit Nehru) told the Central Assembly that the Government wanted to abolish provincial 'governors. British or Indian. “The Indian Government’s main purpose for existence is to gain complete independence, and with the coming of independence the need for governors ceases,’’ he said.

The Central Assembly unanimously approved continued membership of the International Monetary Funa and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
