British Army Officer's Death.—The death has occurred of Brigadier W. R. N. Madocks, aged 75 years. He joined the Royal Field Artillery in India in 1891, was a staff officer in the New Zealand Defence Forces from 1896 to 1899, and served in the South African War with the New Zealand Mounted Rifles. After service in the first world war, Brigadier Madocks retired in 1927.—London, October 30.
