FUNERAL OF FIRE . SUPERINTENDENT The funeral of Mr Robert Carson, late superintendent of the Lyttelton Volunteer Fire Brigade, took place on Saturday afternoon, and was attended by members of the brigade, Canterbury Kilwinning Lodge, Loyal City of Norwich Lodge, the Mayor (Mr W.' T. Lester), and councillors and many citizens. The service at Holy Trinity Church and at the ’ crematorium was taken by the Rev. R. J. Witty. The Lyttelton Marine Band played “The Garland of Flowers” as the cortege left Lyttelton and again on arrival at Bromley. Members of the Sumner Volunteer Fire Brigade and representatives of the Christchurch City Brigade at Woolston paraded outside their respective fire stations as the funeral passed.
