Week. —Alex. Jany, aged 17, who yesterday broke the world’s 200 metres swimming record, created a new European record for 400 metres in 285.85ec. compared with the previous figure of 286 sec. Jany. earlier in the week, established a European record for 100 metres.—Marseilles, September 22. I
