ATTLEY’S WIN ANGERS MELBOURNE CROWD
(Rec. 7.10 p.m.) SYDNEY, September 22. At Moonee Valley yesterday, Attley’s defeat of several Caulfield Cup fancies in the Underwood Stakes was greeted by an angry outburst from the crowd. Attley finished last in the Memsie Stakes last week, but yesterday took the lead at the first furlong and ran away from his opponents three furlongs from home. Results: — UNDERWOOD STAKES, one mile.— ATTLEY 9-0 Badger 1; Royal Gem 9-0 Heather 2; Dori Pedro 9-0 Preston 3. Fourteen started; four lengths; two lengths and a half.
