AMERICAN MISSING IN JUGOSLAVIA

BELGRADE, September 18. The United States Embassy has announced that Mr R. H. Stoeckel, an American civilian who was employed by Army Ordnance in Austria, nas been missing in Jugoslavia since July - Mr Stoeckel, after his arrest by Jugoslavs, sent a letter to the British ViceConsul at Ljubljaha from Baribor, where he was detained,- stating that while on a holiday motor tour in a jeep, his road passed inside the Jugo Slav frontier, which was not marked by roadblocks or posters. Two Jugoslav soldiers arrested him after he took some snapshots and passed him through army channels to Maribor for questioning. Mr Stoeckel is still missing.
