OBITUARY

MR R; S. BADGER

Prominent for many years at Christchurch as an estate agent, Mr R. S. Badger died yesterday in his sixtyseventh year. He was born in Rotherham, Yorkshire, and came to New Zealand in the sailing ship Glenlora when only two months old. His father was Mr Wilfred Badger, a barrister and solicitor.

Mr Badger (who was educated at Warwick House School, in Cranmer square) worked for firms at Christchurch and Lyttelton before commencing in business as an advertising, real estate, and indent agent. For the last 30 years he had been solely in the real estate business.

For a time Mr Badger was secretary of the Real Estate Institute, and he was for many years on the committee of the British and Foreign Bible Society, of which he was made a life member.

He is survived by a widow, six sons, and three daughters.
