SALES OF SECTIONS
Sir, —I see the Land Sales Court spending its time on small sections valued at about £2OO and less. Oftpn these small deals are from one serviceman to another; and if they do not go through, the owners are penalised by expenses of anything from £5 to £7. which seems quite unnecessary where such small sums are involved. Often a section suits a man for reasons quite outside the commercial value fixed ,by the Court; and he is unable to secure the section he wants if the vendor declines the Court’s price. It is surely time that the Government altered legislation so that deals that do not exceed, say. from £2OO to £250, dan be decided by buyer and seller without all the delay and expense incurred by having to put them before the Court.—Yours, etc ” SERVICEMAN. September 15, 1946.
