ATTITUDE DEFINED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, September 18. The attitude of the National Party toward the Maori people was defined at a conference of candidates which conctudqd to-day i when a resolution was passed conveying cordial greetings and best wishes to the party’s candidates for the four Maori electorates. The resolution assured the candidates; and through them the Maori people, of the party’s determination to develop an administration which would assure the Maori people equality with the pakeha in every direction, and the maintenance of all social security other rights. “We wish to assure the Maori people,” it concluded, “of our utmost goodwil land co-operation.”
