Otira Gorge Highway.—
—A number of
motorists from the West Coast, including several who had been attending tne races at Ashburton, were unable to use the Otira Gorge route on Sunday because Broad creek, on the Canterbury side of Arthur’s Pass, was in flood. Several cars had to turn back from Broad creek to Christchurch, and !E om „r re travel via Lewis Pass to the West Coast. The Public Works Department is preparing to bridge Broad creek.
