ARRANGEMENT RENEWED An arrangement had been made with Pyne, Gould, Guinness Ltd. to graze certain ar£as in the North Park and the usual areas in the South Park at the same rate as last year, said a report of the finance committee which was received at a meeting of the Christchurch Domains Board yesterday. “In the South Park, the sheep are now mowing the grass for us, and there is a financial return of 2d a head a week,” commented Mr C. D. W. L. Sheppard. The Director of the Botanic Gardens (Mr B. P. Mansfield) mentioned the value of sheep in keeping the grass under control. A plan drawn up by the City Engineer (Mr E. Somers) for a parking area for doctors’ cars on the hospital corner, was adopted. On the recommendation of the gardens and parks committee, a request from the R.S.A. Bowling Club to erect a picket fence at the entrance to its grounds, was granted, subject to the approval of the director. My M. ,E. Lyons presided.
