CAR ROLLS 1000 FEET
ONE KILLED. THREE INJURED (P.A.) NAPIER, September 16. One man was killed and three others were injured when a car plunged .through a fence and rolled nearly 1000 feet down a precipitous bank near Mohaka, on the Napier-Wairoa road, at 1 a.m. yesterday. The victim was: Mihaere Karekare, aged 24, married, with one child, of Hastings. Three others in the car were sent to hospital suffering from slight injuries. They are: Peter Waeiki, Charles and William Mohi, all of Hastings. William Mohi was the driver of the car. The party, which was travelling from Hastings to Wairoa, had attended a wedding reception at Mohaka shortly before the tragedy. The four occupants were thrown from the car as it plunged down the bank. The body of Karekare was found near the top of the bank.
