DERAILED ENGINE AND WAGGONS FALL INTO MANAWATU RIVER.—The scene of the railway accident near Te Apiti, in the Manawatu Gorge, on Tuesday, when the engine and three waggons of a goods train were knocked down a 70ft bank into the Manawatu river by a landslide. The tip of the third waggon is seen above water. The engine and the two other waggons are submerged.
