CRUELTY TO A CAT
Sir, —Having read in your paper this this morning of some contemptible person who threw a defenceless cat into the Avon river, I am filled with utter disgust for human beings. I have assisted in an animal clinic, and even the poorest people have brought their animals in to be nainlessly put to sleep; yet those men could afford a motor-car and were either too mean or callous to have the poor mite put to rest in this way. Needless to say, I am passionately fond of cats, and have just buried a beautiful black one I have had for 13 years. Is it any wonder that this foul act filled me with the urge to write this letter? —Yours, etc.. RT.H. July IS. 194& —. ,iU., .
