SECONDARY SCHOOL FOOTBALL

Sir,—Please allow me space to congratulate the first fifteens of both the Christchurch Boys’ High School and Christ’s College on the really excellent display of Rugby football, as it should be played, given by them in their recent match at Straven road. It reflects great credit on both these really fine schools. I know the matter has already been ventilated, but, even so, is there any real reason why such an important school fixture should not be played at Lancaster Park, where the seating accommodation is so infinitely superior? In any case, they have to play in front of a laree crowd, so what’s the difference? Why not a return match there to help the food for Britain campaign?—Yours, etc., EDWARD DIXON. July 19, 1946.
