AUTUMN MEETING TO-DAY The ’Ashburton County Racing Club's autumn fixture will be held at Ashburton to-day, and the club should have a successful meeting. Although the fields in the open events are not strong, the hack i races are well filled, and may provide the best of the day. The principal race, the Ashburton Handicap, has drawn a field of nine, and it is domihated by the top-weight.. Signal Officer, which on redent form should again be successful. The Ashburton course has a good, long straight, and that will suit Signal Officer. The course is in good order, and* unless the weather breaks the going should be fast.
