AIR-LINER HITS MOUNTAIN

21 BODIES RECOVERED (Rec 12.10.) NEW YORK, March 4. Twenty-one bodies have so far been recovered from an American Air Lines’ aircraft which crashed in the Laguna mountains 45 miles east of Los Angeles. All but six were severely burned. The aircraft carried 21 passengers and a crew of four.

Eight navy aircraft tried to fly over the area, but were turned back by fog and wind. A coastguard aeroplane later reported that the air liner had hit a peak 6000 feet high.
