MAYFAIR
“CAPTAIN EDDIE”
Starring Fred Mac Murray, with a brilliant supporting cast, “Captain Eddie,” the thrilling and dramatic story of a man who tempted fate, defied danger, and lived a hundred lifetimes in the time of one, opens at the Mayfair Theatre to-day. Presented by 20th Century Fox, the picture unfolds the story of the life of Eddie Rickenbacker, and reveals the drama of the man whose every move was featured in headlines. After being given up for lost in a lifeboat in the Pacific, Rickenbacker returns to break records on the auto racing speedway, and to show superlative courage in shooting enemy aeroplanes from the sky. Lynn Bari plays the romantic lead opposite MacMurray, and her performance has been generally icclaimed, while other well-known players in the cast are Charles Bickford, Thomas Mitchell, and Lloyd Nolan.
