AUSTRALIA’S PART IN FRAMING PEACE
“FULL OPPORTUNITY OF PARTICIPATING ” (Rec. 9 .p.m.) SYDNEY, Jan. 7. When he landed here this morning from the Empire Chieftain the Australian Minister of External Affairs (Dr. Evatt) said that the primary object of his mission to London had been achieved. Australia would now have a full opportunity of participating in both the European and Pacific peace settlements. As it became apparent that there was no plan to call together a peace conference composed of all the active Allied nations, he said, it became his duty to invoke the principle that all Allied nations which had a record of active and sustained belligerency were entitled to participate in the framing of the peace.
