Military police broke up a crowd of sev era i thousand angry American solaiers who were marching on their headquarters this afternoon in one of several demonstrations protesting against the War Department’s announced slow-down of demobilisation Because of difficulties in obtaining reP An ments f° r repatriated men. , All the demonstrations were orderly, out the soldiers’ speakers urged the troops to attend one or the other of two mass meetings in the morning and evening to-morrow. The troops will tbeir demands to the Secretary oi War (Mr Robert Patterson), who is aue shortly from Tokyo.
