AIR LINE TO SOUTH AMERICA

FIRST FLIGHT MADE FROM ENGLAND

LONDON, January 6. The British Lancastrian civil airliner Starlight has landed at Buenos Aires, completing the first flight on the new service between Britain and South America, a distance of nearly 7000 miles. The aircraft took off from an airfield near London on New Year’s Day, and the following day was in Rio de Janeiro, 6000 miles away. A stay of three days was made in Montevideo, where the members of the crew were entertained most hospitably.
