A WEATHER FORECAST
Sir,—Here is a weather forecast that may be of some interest to farmers and other readers of “The Press”: A series of westerly depressions are crossing the South Island. So far they are only weak ones but after the middle of this week a series of fresh westerly depressions, of a somewhat more vigorous type should cross the South Island. These depressions will bring very bad weather, north-westerly gales giving place to a very cold southerly storm, with snow in places but more especially in the Mackenzie country of the South Island, about Thursday and Sunday next, August 9 and 12.—Yours, etc., C.W. August 5, 1945.
