FIELD DAY AT PURAU A field day to raise funds for soldiers’ Christmas parcels was held recently at Purau, and £77 was collected. Mr S. Birdling was judge, and Mr C. Cradock was timekeeper. Results were as follows ; Head and Hold (34 entries'!. —T. Brankin’s Boy, 54 points, 1; S. Baklay's Tim. 53 points, 2i M. B. Leslie’s Moss, 52 points. 3; L. Turtln’s Boss, 50 points, 4. Drive and Yard (25 entries).—T. Brankin’s Boy. 31 points, 1; F. Fiecken’s Flo, 27 points, 2; J. Thacker's Coin, 23 points, 3; M. B. Leslie’s Moss, 21 points, 4. Kuntaway (23 entries).—H. Scott’s C’.own, 50 points, 1: T. Thacker’s Storm, 48 points, 2: A. Jackson's Dick, 46 points,' 3; W. Gray’s Up, 41 points, 4.
