CHINESE TROOPS ADVANCE
GAIN OF 23 MILES BEYOND KWEILIN <Rcc. 7 p.m.) CHUNGKING, July 29. The Chinese High Command has announced that Chinese troops have advanced 23 miles north-east of Kweilin in a drive towards Lingling, a former Allied airfield. Chinese troops pursuing the Japanese who abandoned Kweilin have reached Linchwan. Front-line reports •tate that the Japanese almost completely destroyed Kweilin.
