WOMEN’S INSTITUTES
Sefton-Kowal.—A handcraft demonstration was given by Mrs T. Fleming at the recent monthly meeting of the SeftonKowai Women’s Institute. It was decided to take up a collection to buy material for garments for Polish children at Pahiatua. Competitions resulted as follows: something new from something old, Mrs L. Giles I, Mrs C. Petrie 2, Miss J. Lang 3; biscuits made without butter, Mrs R. Arps 1, Mrs J. Maguire 2, Miss J. Lang 3; best bloom, Mrs G. White 1, Miss B. Douds 2, Mrs C. Petrie 3: best small bloom, Mrs G. White 1. Mrs C. Petrie 2, Miss B. Douds 3.
