Dickens Fellowship.—Miss A. G. Musgrove presided at the July meeting of the Dickens Fellowship. The programme was conducted by Mrs E. R. rainger, who took as her theme “The Women of Bleak House.” Illustrative character sketches were given by Mrs O'Sullivan (Miss Elite), Mrs R. S Cocks (Mrs Woodcourt), Miss A. G. Musgrove CVolumnia Dedlock). Miss B. Craig (Mrs Bagnet), Readings were given by Miss E. R. Burn and Mrs D. Aitken. Group study circles were led by Misses V. G. McLean, E. M. Stocker, and Captain R. J. G. Collins. Otira Gorge Road. —Snow in the Otira Gorge blocked that route from the West Coast to Canterbury yesterday morning, there being about 10 inches of snow on the highway. Later in the morning a bulldozer cleared a path through the snow, and the road may be negotiated by motorists with the use of chains. , •
