HOMES FOR FORMER SERVICEMEN
3297 ALLOCATED TO MAY 31 Up to May 31 3297 returned servicemen and women were provided with housing under the system of allocating 50 per cent, of State rental houses and flats to service applicants, says the monthly statistical review of the Rehabilitation Department. During May 167 persons were ■ allocated homes. ■ The following are detailed figures respectively for May and for the period since the allocation scheme was initiated:—Auckland, 50, 999; Hamilton. 9, 253; Napier, 9, 175; New Plymouth, 3. 99; Wellington, 42, 1087; Nelson, 10, 67; Christchurch, 21, 327; Dunedin, 17, 215; Alnvercargill, 6, 75; totals, 167, 3297. ~
