GOVERNOR-GENERAL OF N.Z.

* FREYBERG’S NAME MENTIONED LONDON, June 21. “Dominion circles in London are discussing the possibility that LieutenantGeneral Sir Bernard Freyberg, V.C., may be the next Governor-General of New Zealand,” states the “Evening Standard’s" diarist, “I have heard it said that his withdrawal of his. candidature for Spelthorne, Middlesex, was to leave him free for the Governor-Generalship. Lady Freyberg, who is an active worker at the Fernleaf Club, who has never .been to New Zealand, has heard reports, but she told me that she had received no confirmation of these from her husband.”
