Sir,—Mr Si G. Holland Says that in the last war we had a busy day if our guns fired io or 20 rounds. wof-Mr Holland not remember the'j&ttie ol the Somme from July I. to Novettiber 17, 1916? At the third battw of Yp;-es 120.000 gunners were in action, and in 19 days 4,500,000 shells, weights 128.000 tons, were fired. One six-gun 18-pounder battery fired more than (WOO rounds the first day. The politician counted out was the Hon. w, T. Massey, and by the Red Feds, aa they were still sore over ’the 1913 •trike; but it was good-natured, and Old Bill could take it. and give it back, too.—Yours, etc., * . C. H. ROBINSON.
