SUGAR RATION
Sir,—“ Housewife” is an outsider where infant feeding is concerned, as her effervescence shows. Has she ever nursed a babe? If so, she will perhaps have been lucky and not have had-to drink a quart of gruel each night, eat porridge,. drink milk, and take great plates of milk puddings and fruit (all to help her babes to get a good start); and still find herself losing weight (beyond believing. I watched my daughter do it. All these foods require sugar to make them palatable. Many old pudding materials are gone from our ken and mbnus hard to plan. Then, this year’s black currants had to be preserved for the older babies who are the six-months-old robbers of selfish “Housewife," If “Housewife” wants information. there it Is.—Yours, etc., MANAGING GRANDMA.
