HEAVY RAIN AT GREYMOUTH
STORMS FOR TWO DAYS During the last two days more than Biin of rain has fallen at Greymouth. tfie fall in the 24 hours ended at 9 ©’dock yesterday morning was 1.43 inches, which brings the total for the five days this month to 4.36 inches, and the total for the year to 36.97 inches. A severe electrical storm was experienced at Greymouth early yesterday morning. For the third successive day, work on the' Greymouth waterfront could be carried out only spasmodically, while a resumption of heavier rain in the afternoon caused further delays to shipping. The Grey river was snowing the effects of rain in the back -country, and there was a five-knot current yesterday in the stream. REEFTON STORM Xar the second night in succession, ReOfton .was raked by a violent storm, when in the early hours of yesterday morning; a heavy electrical disturbance passed over the town. This was fiCC<>mpanied by heavy rain. The Voider lasted for a long time, and gome Of- the clans shook houses.
