ANNUAL REUNION

RANGI-RURU OLD 6IBLS About 00 members of Rangi-Ruru Old Girls’ Association attended the annual meeting and reunion held at the school on Saturday afternoon. The visitors were welcomed by the principal, Miss E.. Gibson, and while some enjoyed a swim -in the school baths, others played in a tennis tournament for the Douglas Challenge Cup, which was won by Mrs M. Peate. The report, presented at the annual meeting which followed, noted that members had again this year helped ; at the Welcome Club and that three knitting bees, directed by Mrs McRae Peacock (Papanui), Miss Aldwyth Taylor (Merivale), and Miss Dorothy Hasell (Fendalton) worked regularly for the' Navy League. Officers were elected as follows: — president, Mrs J. C. Pirrit; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames Peacock, A. Blunden,and T. D. J. Holderness; honorary secretary and treasurer, Mrs D. E. Dalzell; committee, Miss M. Wallet 1 (honorary life member), Mesdames Paul Harper, J. H. Hobbs, J. Cuddon, J. Lough, Misses Moya Douglas, Barbara Bruce, Natalie Lough, Margaret Hutchison, Josephine Lawrence; honorary auditor, Mr G. N. Waller; sports committee. Misses M. Douglas, Katheline Stevenson and Adrienne Templer; magazine committee, Mrs J. C. Newton. Misses June Smith and Kathleen Cuddon. ■
