IMMIGRATION

Sir, —“Open Door,” who should be manly enough to sign his name, is not convincing. What guarantee can he or anyone else give that foreigners would live in harmony with us? The black, white, and brown soldiers he mentions are Britishers. "Regarding the creed, I will say now that in my opinion no one should be allowed to land in New Zealand from Eire or Spain. Eire sent an army to help General Franco, and General Franco sent an army to help Germany. Eire had no assistance for England, but could provide £IOO,OOO to help feed Italians who called out for war against England. I respect mankind of any colour, but creed is a menace to the world. There will be no everlasting peace while the present system exists. Thank God we had Northern Ireland, wherein to house the good American soldiers.— Yours, etc., B. HAMPTON. December 19. 1944.
