RESCUED PRISONERS OF WAR

SURVIVORS OF JAPANESE TRANSPORT (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 16. The War Office announce? that 58 British and 86 Australian prisoners of war have been recovered from a Japanese transport torpedoed in the Pacific last month. They are frym Malaya and Siam. The United Kingdom party will be brought home via the United States as soon as possible. The Australian party is now en route to Australia, It is feared that a number of other prisoners lost their lives. A demand has been made of the Japanese authorities for full lists of those who were in the transport and any survivors in their hands. . ....
